HI all!
Today Rene and I went out on our own and visited Anchorage. This morning we went on a driving tour to the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet. Our first stop Potter Marsh where we saw lots of birds: gulls, mallard ducks and 2 EAGLES!!! Rene was so excited! So we are nowing in our countdown of how many eagles we will see on this part of the trip. The next stop was along the inlet to see if we could see some Beluga whales--but none to be seen. The wind was whipping around so hard and it was COLD! Then we stop to see a waterfall along the way. It was a nice drive.
We came back to downtown Alaska and walked around for a while. We went to the 5th Ave Mall--it was so cool---5 stories tall. It was straight up instead of spread out. After that we walked to the Visitor Center and visited a few shops. We were reflecting on what a contrast between Denali and Coastal Alaska. The quietness of the park and the hustle and bustle of the city. We preferred the park!
Tomorrow we board the ship and head on our cruise. See you tomorrow!

I hope you see more eagles on the cruise. Does it go to places where eagles live? I wonder if you will see any whales on your cruise?
